JOURNEY TO THE ALTAR

Jon and I have decided to try out this "Blog" world. We will be keeping everyone updated on all things "wedding". This will have to do with a mixture of topics, budgeting, saving, work, school and much more. Hope you all enjoy!

My beautiful niece Isabella Sophia!

I have to say I didn’t think I would be so happy to be an aunt! I can’t wait for her to come home, just one more week and we can start spoiling her!!! Between my Anthony and now my little Bella I couldn’t love my life any more.

Upcoming Events

Excited to say that my sister’s baby shower ran smoothly! Everyone had a great time, and all the decorations turned out beautiful. I want to say thank you to all who showed up and a big huge thank you to everyone that helped set up.

We will soon be meeting Isabella Sophia, I am excited because of course I will be her favorite aunt, and probably be the one to spoil her the most. I realized a few weeks back I was struggling with the fact that I had no clue who I could use as a flower girl for my wedding but who better than my beautiful niece?

Now on to my next topic: Wedding Venue search

I have been slacking when it comes to planning the wedding, mostly due to the fact that both Jon and I lost our jobs and saving has been put on hold. However, it is no excuse, there are a ton of things that need to be done and yes even though there is plenty of time venues do book a lot faster than I expected. We have a few venues we are planning to see this coming week, and hopefully they fall under our budget.

I basically know all the girls who will be walking, I will soon be letting you girls know so don’t feel bad if you haven’t heard from me. Jon and I have also pretty much decided on which men will be walking but I believe we are short one, so that is still up in the air. I have also decided on colors, which all I will say is, BLUE TONES.

I have been looking at Alfred Angelo, and amazingly the two dresses I am looking at are reasonably priced. I just found out that my mom is neighbors and friends with the owner of a bridal shop in Coral Gables, which will most definitely work to my advantage as far as discounts on dresses, for both bridal and bridal parties. I have recently started on Pinterest, for those of you who know what that is and have it, you are more than welcome to see a few ideas I have pinned on the “wedding ideas” board. http://pinterest.com/jvarmeda/

Well I don’t want to bore you guys with too much info.

P.s. This is practically the colors I want for my flowers/wedding.

Anonymous asked: When will the wedding be?

There is not a set date as of yet. We want to make it a winter wedding if possible. We promise to let everyone know soon though! we decided to have “save the date” invites but of course not yet.

Loving my job!!

So far, the store has yet to officially open but, Jon and I along with 2 other coworkers have gone in to set up. I am pretty sure the store won’t be opening until Thursday due to some delays in furniture coming in. We did everything from labeling, cleaning out containers, assembling supplies and even being used as guinea pigs to try out the toppings (there will be a total of 76 topping at the topping bar).

Jon called the owner today to find out if there were any updates on the schedule and to ask if they needed us to go back in to finish setting up and he was so grateful that we called to follow up. The owner seems to really like us; I can say so far the staff is amazing! I know no one enjoys going in to work but I think it might be different here. I have only ever been happy when I worked for Disney, and no job would probably ever measure up but I am HAPPY at Yogurtini. I hope once the store kicks off and we get the customer flow, we don’t run into any grumpy coworkers.

P.S. I love our uniform! It’s a green comfortable t-shirt which says “SERVE-YO-SELF”.

Yogurtini

Finally! After applying at a million stores which were “accepting applications” (which obviously means, Hi waste your time applying because we’re not hiring) both Jon and I got a call back to interview at a brand new frozen yogurt store called “Yogurtini”. We went in for open interviews with the manager and he seemed to really like us. He had us come in to a second interview with the store manager and once we finished the interviews we were told they would give us a call if they were to choose us. We waited by the phone all morning, finally around 1 p.m. we received the call!!!! we both got offered positions. How much better can things get? Not only do we have a job but we get to work together.

Well now that we got that settled, we have to sit down and figure out how much we are going to be separating for the wedding every paycheck after paying whatever bills we have. Thankfully I am able to separate a good chunk of money because of grants I get from school. Well I am off to bed. Tomorrow we have orientation at work, wish us luck!

We come to love not by finding the perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly.
